About the HR Excellence Program

Developed in 2001 by the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce (NACC) and the Middle Tennessee Society
for Human Resource Management (MT|SHRM), the HR Excellence Program recognizes organizations in
Middle Tennessee with outstanding Human Resources programs.

If you want to leverage the power of your workforce to help you reach your business goals, the HR Excellence
Program is for you. While many prominent Middle Tennessee area companies participate for the prestige
of receiving top honors, many more businesses—large and small—participate in order to learn about
best practices and reap the benefits of feedback, guidance and support. Participation gives you access
to advice, inspiration and tools that will empower you to overcome even the toughest employment,
retention, compensation, and workplace quality challenges.

The HR Excellence Program provides an annual opportunity for organizations to receive award recognition
for achieving a standard of excellence in one or more of the following five categories: HR Strategy; HR
Management; Employee Education, Training and Development; HR Measurement; and Employee Well-Being
and Engagement. The HR Excellence Program does more than just celebrate companies with the best HR
programs. It helps companies build outstanding HR programs. It can take your people management
programs from non-existent to good… or from good to great.

Don’t miss the opportunity to help your organization assess the progress of its HR programs and identify
areas of strength and opportunities for improvement. Review the application and begin the process of
learning and sharing successful HR best practice strategies.
